Challenge:
 The 24-year-old Regis School of the Sacred Heart was at a critical juncture. With a new head of school in place and an engaged board, the all-boys, independent Catholic primary and middle school wanted to clarify its identity, determine its strategic priorities and set a clear path for growth.

Solution: In collaboration with a strategic planning committee, the GideonStone team launched a survey for board, parents, and faculty/staff that resulted in record-high returns; conducted personal interviews; facilitated a two-day board strategic planning retreat; compiled and consolidated feedback from 8 Task Forces; crafted a three-year strategic plan; prepared presentations for the board and Regis community; and prepared an action plan to kick-start the implementation process.

Results:

  • Clarified the Regis Experience for all grade levels;
  • Revealed a clear identity (The Regis School of the Sacred Heart is Greater Houston’s premier all-boys, Catholic school for preK-8th grade);
  • Defined clear outcomes (The Regis Experience produces a brotherhood of boys who are inspired to create, innovate, lead & serve; respectful and compassionate; technologically savvy; balanced – mind, body, spirit; equipped for success);
  • Clarified priorities in the areas of enrollment, communication and program enhancement;
  • Unified the board in its plan to grow Regis to its full capacity over the next five years.
